INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend the annual renewal of the above
liquor license businesses and to highlight the calls for service related to incidences of
disturbances, crimes against persons, crimes against property, and public morals
occurring at the business since the last liquor license renewal.
BACKGROUND
Regarding the listed businesses, the following is a summary of activity since their last
renewal. The following key provides a brief description of those calls for service
displaying four areas of concern.

DISCUSSION
BIG 10 MART (2100 JFK ROAD)
Since the last Renewal date there have been 28 calls for service. Of these, there were
four disturbances, two crimes against persons, nine crimes against property, and no
public moral violations. Additionally there was one individual violation, and no violations
against the business.

were no disturbances, no crimes against persons, no crimes against property, and no
public moral violations. Additionally there were no individual alcohol violations and no
alcohol violations against the business.
HARTIG DRUG COMPANY (2225 CENTRAL)
Since the last renewal date there have been a total of 26 calls for service. Of these,
there was one disturbance, one crime against persons, three crimes against property
and no public moral violations. There were no individual alcohol violations against
individuals or the business.

TAIKO JAPANESE RESTAURANT (2155 SOUTHPARK COURT)
Since the last renewal, there was one call for service consisting of a Failure to Appear
arrest warrant.
TOWN CLOCK INN (799 MAIN)
Since the last renewal date there has been one call for service. There were no
disturbances, no crimes against persons, no crimes against property, and one public
moral violation. Additionally, there was one individual violation and no violations against
the business.

RECOMMENDATION
Based upon a review of the above businesses, we recommend approval of the annual
liquor license for Big 10 Mart, 2100 JFK Road; DeMac's Copper Kettle, 2987 Jackson
Street; Hartig Drug Company, 2225 Central Avenue; Oky Doky #8, 535 Hill Street; Oky
Doky #21, 2010 Kerper Boulevard; Taiko Japanese Restaurant, 2155 Southpark Court
and Town Clock Inn, 799 Town Clock Plaza.
ACTION REQUESTED
Action requested is for City Council consideration to approve the liquor license renewal
for Big 10 Mart, 2100 JFK Road; DeMac's Copper Kettle, 2987 Jackson Street; Hartig
Drug Company, 2225 Central Avenue; Oky Doky #8, 535 Hill Street; Oky Doky #21,

Whereas, applications for Beer Permits have been submitted and filed to this Council
for approval and the same have been examined and approved: and
Whereas, the premises to be occupied by such applicants were inspected and found to
comply with the Ordinances of the City and have filed proper bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
That the Manager be authorized to cause to be issued the following named applicants a
Beer Permit.
