DISCUSSION On July 6 ,2015 the City Council approved a resolution approving submission of a Lead Hazard Control Grant application to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The application was approved for award by HUD. The attached letter from HUD informs the City that its application has been reviewed and a grant of $3,230,815 is approved. A Funding Approval/Agreement is included for execution by the City. The City Council must now approve execution of the grant agreement as provided by the attached resolution. Whereas, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved funds in the amount of $3,230,815 for the Lead Hazard Control Program for a thirty six month performance period commencing November 2, 2015 and ending October 31, 2018; and Whereas, a grant agreement covering the activities proposed to be carried out with the Lead Hazard Control Grant funds has been transmitted to the City of Dubuque by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA: Section 1. That the Funding Approval/Agreement, authorized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development beginning November 2, 2015 for a Lead Hazard Control Grant to the City of Dubuque in the amount of $3,230,815 and identified as Grant Number IALHB0604-15 is hereby accepted.
