1. Approve Minutes of December 13 and December 19, 2007
Gieseman moved to approve the minutes of December 13, 2007 and the
minutes of December 19, 2007, as corrected. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion
carried 3-0.
2. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for the Position of Cashier
Gieseman moved to receive and file the communications and to schedule an
entrance examination for the position of Cashier, that the time limit for the
certified eligibility list be established at two years, that the application deadline be
5:00 p.m. on February 8, 2008, and the exam to be held on Thursday, February
21, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at a location to be determined. Seconded by Kluesner.
Motion carried 3-0.
3. Request to Schedule Promotional Examination for the Position of Lead
Applications/Network Analyst
Gieseman moved to receive and file the communications and to schedule a
promotional examination for the position of Lead Applications/Network Analyst,
that the time limit for the certified eligibility list be established at two years, that
the application deadline be 5:00 p.m. on February 8, 2008, and the exam to be
held on Thursday, March 4, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at a location to be determined.
Seconded by Kluesner. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for the Position of Secretary
Removed from Agenda.
5. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for the Position of Traffic
Signal Technician II
Gieseman moved to receive and file the communications, that the entrance
examination for the position of Traffic Signal Technician II and that the exam be
open to all current City employees and the general public. It is further
recommended that the exam be a take-home test and that the Personnel
Manager to determine the application deadline and the date the exams are to be
returned by, and to inform the Civil Service Commission of the schedule.
6. Communication from John Callahan Regarding a Written Disciplinary
Notice
Gieseman moved to receive and file the communication from John Callahan and
that the Civil Service Commission did not have jurisdiction to hear the grievance.
Mr. Callahan was advised that he should follow the contract grievance
procedure.
7. Schedule Hearing on Grievance of Brian Cortez
Kluesner moved to schedule the hearing regarding the grievance of Brian Cortez
for Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall in Conference Room
B.
