Claim by Jessica YoungTHE CTTY OF DUB E MEMORANDUM Masterpiece on the Mississippi BARRY LINDAHL ~ \~l~' CITY ATTORNEY To: Mayor Roy D. Buol and Members of the City Council DATE: RE: Claimant April 23, 2008 Claim Against the City of Dubuque by Jessica Young Date of Claim Jessica Young 04/01 /08 Date of Loss 03/15/08 Nature of Claim Vehicle Damage This is a claim in which the claimant alleges that as she was driving near West 9t" and Hill Streets, she struck a pothole in the road and damaged a tire and rim on her vehicle. According to the report of John Klostermann, Street & Sewer Maintenance Supervisor, Public Works records show that the City of Dubuque Public Works Department had crews patching holes on Kerper Boulevard prior to this incident on March 12t" and on March 18t". It is Mr. Klostermann's opinion that the Public Works Department was responsive by patching the pothole hazards as they developed. It is therefore the recommendation of John Klostermann to deny this claim of $146.55 as filed due to the efforts of the Public Works Department to repair the hazards in a timely manner. The City Attorney's Office concurs with this recommendation. BAL:tIs cc: Michael C.
