(CIP 7101902)
DATE: April 22, 2008
INTRODUCTION
The enclosed resolutions authorize the public bidding procedure for the Groveland
Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction Project.
BACKGROUND
With the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2008 Capital Improvement Budget, the City Council
established funding for the replacement of 494-feet of 6-inch diameter clay pipe with fl-
inch diameter PVC pipe on Groveland Place between Burden Avenue and Brunswick
Street.
DISCUSSION
The budget identified 494 feet of 6-inch sewer to be replaced with an 8-inch diameter
pipe. There is actually 603 feet of 6-inch pipe between Burden and Brunswick that
should be replaced. Due to the increased pipe length for the project, coupled with
projected material cost increases, the original project budget of $54,000 needs to be
augmented with $29,411.63 in funds from the Sanitary Sewer General Repair CIP
(CIP#7101289).
The schedule for the project will be as follows:
Advertisement for Bids May 9, 2008
Notice of Hearing on Plans & Specifications May 9, 2008
Public Hearing May 19, 2008
Receipt of Bids May 22, 2008
Award of Contract June 2, 2008
Final Completion Date October 31, 2008
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council establish the date for the public hearing and
authorize the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the Groveland Sanitary Sewer
Reconstruction Project.

is as follows:
Estimate
Construction Contract $65,938.04

Engineering Design & Inspection 10,879.78
Total Project Cost $83,411.63
