As Public Health Specialist for the City of Dubuque, I am pleased to submit this letter of
support for the Dubuque Community School District's application to the Statewide
Voluntary Preschool Program for Four-Year-Old Children.
am very involved with one of the City of Dubuque's current top priorities, the "Every
Child, Every Promise Initiative", acounty-wide, community-engagement and education
process for all citizens. This initiative includes:
• Caring Adults
• Safe Places
• Healthy Start
• Effective Education
• Opportunities to Help Others
Through our local Dubuque County Empowerment Board and through community health
needs assessments, public health works to help children get a healthy start and work
collaboratively to achieve the other promises, including Effective Education.
The Dubuque Community School District is an active public health partner and I look
forward to expanding our efforts in their preschool program.
Sincerely,
~~
