Proclamation_Red Cross CPR-AED Months June_July 2008
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Dubuque is one of the cities across the country served by the
American Red Cross’ 749 chapters, training 5.3 million people in
lifesaving skills annually
WHEREAS, all residents of the Tri-State Community benefit greatly from the
programs and services given by the American Red Cross of the Tri-
States serving our community; and
WHEREAS, the local Red Cross is aiming to help its national office reach the
goal of educating 250,000 new people in CPR, AED and First Aid
training throughout the summer months;
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT THE MONTHS OF JUNE AND JULY 2008 BE KNOWN
AS:
"CPR/AED AWARENESS MONTHS"
AND URGE EVERY RESIDENT IN THE DUBUQUE AREA TO SUPPORT THIS
MONTH BY GETTING TRAINED IN LIFESAVING CPR/AED AND FIRST AID SKILLS.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set
my hand and caused the Great Seal of the
City of Dubuque, IA to be affixed this 16th
day of June, 2008.
