INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to request City Council acceptance of a $30,000
donation from the family of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klavitter to resurface and improve the
tennis courts in Eagle Point Park.
DISCUSSION
William Klavitter contacted our office asking how his family could help improve tennis
facilities as a memorial to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klavitter.
We decided to focus on the tennis courts in Eagle Point Park. The courts need to be
resurfaced, spectator benches are needed, and landscaping at the entrance to the
courts is needed. Mr. Klavitter liked this project and presented a $30,000 check to
cover the costs. A memorial stone will be placed in the new landscape recognizing Mr.
and Mrs. Klavitter.
I will consult the three children on the details of the project and a ribbon cutting, if they
elect to have one.
ACTION STEP
The action requested is for the City Council to accept the $30,000 donation from the
Klavitter family to improve the tennis courts in Eagle Point Park.
