Minutes Civil Service Commission 6 17 08CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Time: 11:00 a.m.. Place of Meeting: City Hall -Conference Room B Present: Chairperson Merle Duehr, Commissioners Loras Kluesner and Otto Krueger Also Present: Personnel Manager Randy Peck, Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence, Police Chief Kim Wadding, Assistant Police Chief Terry Tobin, Information Services Manager Chris Kohlmann 1. Approve Minutes of May 16, 2008 Motion by Krueger to approve the minutes of May 16, 2008 as presented. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion carried 3-0. 2. Certify List for the Position of Police Officer Motion by Krueger to receive and file the communication from the Chief of Police and to certify the list for the position of Police Officer as presented. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion carried 3-0. 3. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for Position of Information Technology Specialist Motion by Kluesner to establish the passing point for the position of Information Technology Specialist at 58 (64.4%) and above correct answers. Seconded by Krueger. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Kluesner to certify the list as read. Seconded by Krueger. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Schedule Entrance Examination for Position of Public Safety Dispatcher Krueger moved to receive and file the communication and to schedule an entrance examination for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher, that the exam be open to current City employees and the general public, that the application deadline be 5:00 p.m. on July 7, 2008 with the test being administered on July 15, 2008, and that the list be good for two years. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion passed 3-0. 5. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for Position of Assistant Gardener Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication and to establish the passing point for the position of Assistant Gardener at 52 (61.9%) and above correct answers. Seconded by Krueger. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Kluesner to certify the list as read. Motion carried 3-0. Chairperson Merle Duehr submitted his resignation from the Civil Service Commission effective June 30, 2008. He expressed appreciation to the Commissioners and staff for their support over the years.
