AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA PROVIDING
THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA BE
AMENDED BY REPEALING CHAPTER 34 THEREOF AND ENACTING A
NEW CHAPTER 34 PARKS AND RECREATION
On July, 5, 2006, the City of Dubuque City Council adopted Ordinance No. 54-06. This
Ordinance takes effect upon publication of this summary.
Ordinance No. 54-06 provides for the administration of City of Dubuque parks and
recreation; establishes the Park and Recreation Advisory commission and provides for
its powers and duties; and provides regulations for the use of City parks, including the
prohibition on the use of intoxicating beverages in certain parks.
Ordinance No. 54-06 establishes the following parks:
Alliant Energy Amphitheater:
The following described parcel of real estate is and shall be used for public park
purposes and shall be continued to be known, called and named as "Alliant energy
amphitheater" and placed under the jurisdiction of the Park and Recreation Advisory
Commission:
The area of the Port of Dubuque west of the Mississippi Riverwalk, south of the railroad
tracks east of Bell Street, and adjacent to the former Dubuque Star Brewery.
Allison -Henderson Park:
The following described parcel of real estate is and shall be used for public park
purposes and shall be continued to be known, called and named as "Allison -Henderson
Park" and placed under the jurisdiction of the Park and Recreation Advisory
Commission: Lots 1, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 of Pinehurst Subdivision in the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
Avon Park:
The following described parcel of real estate is and shall be used for public park
purposes and shall be continued to be known, called and named as "Avon Park" and
placed under the jurisdiction of the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission:

(a) The following described real estate is hereby placed under the control of the
jurisdiction and management of the park and recreation advisory commission of the

township 88 north, range 2 east of fifth prime meridian; Lots 2 and 3 of the northwest
one-quarter of the southwest one-quarter, Lots 2 and 3 of the northeast one-quarter of
