Discuss Fair Housing Testing Stud
Kelly provided a memo to commissioners that detailed the fair housing testing project information from
Cedar Rapids. They contracted with the John Marshall Law School for $15,000 to train testers and run
the tests. An additional $5,000 was paid to the testers to go out and do the tests. They will also bring in
a national trainer for the respondents in the tests. That cost has not been determined. HUD had raised
some questions about the testing methodology and has since issued a memo informing agency directors
that agencies are prohibited from using any HUD funds for testing without preapproval from HUD.
Commissioner Rubinstein felt that this should be a project of the Housing Subcommittee. He will attempt
to schedule a meeting with committee members.

adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Winterwood seconded. Motion passed by consensus. Meeting was
