Re: City Water Main Extension On Miller Road
1. I request that the City Council extend the water main to 1869 Miller Road -
currentlythe end of the paved portion and to my property line.
2. This street (Miller Road) is in the City Limits, with property owners paying City
property taxes for many years now, so should receive this benefit.
3. Some owners of property along the road will be constrained from connecting to
the City water main if it isn't extended to the end of the pavement, which is really
the only fair way to complete the project.
4. Hook-ups should be allowed over a long time period, as owners will incur a
significant expense for excavation and plumbing to connect to the new main.
5. If the main were extended to the end of pavement, I would pay the cost of further
extending and connecting to my farmhouse -which is several hundred feet away.
6. I know of no other paved street in the City that doesn't have water available. This
would also provide water for fire suppression.
7. The other nearest location of a water main in at the end of Hunters Ridge - on the
other side of private property that is not accessible to us.
Thanks for your consideration,
