SUBJECT: Final Plat of Lots H, I & J of Dubuque Industrial Center West Third
Addition
In response to a request from the Dubuque County Auditor's Office, Public Works
Director Mike Koch is recommending that the title of the Final Plat of Lots H, I & J of
Dubuque Industrial Center West be corrected to read "Lots H, I & J of Dubuque
Industrial Center West Third Addition" to avoid any duplicate subdivision names and
keep the chain of title distinctly separate from other parcels.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
This is in response to a request from the Dubuque County Auditor's Office for the
renaming of the Final Plat of Lots H, I & J of Dubuque Industrial Center West.
DISCUSSION
The Final Plat of Lots H, I & J of Dubuque Industrial Center West was approved
by the City Council on April 15, 2002 by Resolution 211-02, and recorded in the
Office of the Recorder of Dubuque County as Instrument Number 7571-02 on
April 22, 2002. Subsequent examination of the plat has necessitated that the
name of the Plat be changed to "The Final Plat of Lots H, I & J of Dubuque
Industrial Center West Third Addition". This will avoid any duplicate subdivision
names and keep the chain of title distinctly separate from other parcels.
The lot bearings, distances and areas all remain the same as previously
recorded. Only the title will be changed.
RECOMMENDATION
I would recommend that the title of the Final Plat of Lots H, I & J of Dubuque
Industrial Center West be corrected to "Lots H, I & J of Dubuque Industrial Center
West Third Addition".
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The recommendation of the City Manager should be approved through adoption
of the enclosed resolution

A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF FINAL PLAT OF LOTS H, I, & J
OF DUBUQUE INDUSTRIAL CENTER WEST, IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA
Whereas, the Final Plat of Lots H, I, & J of Dubuque Industrial West was
approved by City Council by Resolution Number 211-02 an February 15, 2002; and,
Whereas, said Plat was recorded as Instrument Number 7571-02 on Apdl 22,
2002 in the Office of the Recorder of Dubuque County; and,
Whereas, that upon further examination of the Final Plat necessitates a
correction in the title of said Plat; and,
Whereas, on~y the title of said Final Plat needs to be corrected and the bearings,
distances, and areas of Lot H, I, & J as recorded all remain unchanged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the title of the Final Plat of Lots H, I, & J of Dubuque Industrial
Center West recorded as Instrument Number 7571-02 and filed on April 22, 2002, in the
Office of the Recorder of Dubuque County, should be corrected to "THE FINAL PLAT
OF LOTS H, I & J OF DUBUQUE INDUSTRIAL CENTER WEST THIRD ADDITION" in
the City of Dubuque, Iowa.

said parcels, by Resolution N umber 211-02.
3. That in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 354.26 of the 1999
Code of Iowa as amended, subsequent examination of the Final Plat
necessitates the following correction which should be made on said Plat as
recorded:
a That the name of the Plat should be changed to: "The Final Plat of
Lots H, I and J of Dubuque Industrial Center West Third Addition".
