RE: Revision to City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances Title 13, Sections 13-2C-
3(B) and 13-2C-3(C)(7). Establishing Sewer Rates
DATE: March 1, 2017
INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to submit to you a copy of the proposed ordinance
changes and a recommendation that ordinance changes anticipated for FY2018 take
effect on July 1, 2017.
DISCUSSION:
In our budget request for FY2018 we are requesting a 3% sewer rate increase. The
effect of the amendment changes, based upon the 3% increase, is on the attached
page. The ordinance changes would revise Section 13-2C-3(B) and Section 13-2C-
3(C)(7) of the Code of Ordinances increasing basic wastewater charges for residential,
commercial and minor industrial users from $4.75 to $4.89 per ccf, rate per each gallon
from $ .00635 to $ .00654.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that you approve the proposed ordinance changes and submit them to the
City Council for approval at their March 7, 2017 budget hearing.
