SUBJECT: 4th Street Ramp Fees
Economic Development Director Bill Baum is recommending approval of the parking
rate fees for both monthly contract parking and hourly rates for the 4th Street Parking
Ramp as follows:
Recommended Fees:
Monthly Rate $35.00
Hourly Rate
First Hour $ .50
Second Hour $1.00
Third Hour $1.50
Fourth Hour $2.00
Fifth Hour $2.50
Sixth Hour $3.00
Seventh Hour $4.00
Eighth Hour $5.00
Ninth Hour $6~00
Tenth Hour + $7.00 max.
The City Council has previously approved the $2.00 fee that will be charged for evening
"pay as you enter."
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: 4th Street Ramp Fees
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memo is to establish parking rate fees for both monthly contract
parking and hourly rates.
BACKGROUND
In anticipation of the 4th Street Parking Ramp opening June 1, 2002, by City ordinance
Section 32-304, the City Manager with the approval of the City Council shall fix and
establish such fees for usage of municipal parking garages.
DISCUSSION
After reviewing information gathered from other communities and considering the usage
of the 4th Street ramp the following rate structure is being submitted by Tim Horsfield,
Parking System Supervisor, for approval. It has been considered that this parking
garage will have a much higher transient usage than other municipal garages at least at
the time of opening.

The maximum fee represented would be computed on a 24 hour time period. Upon
approval, fees will be posted in conspicuous areas within the ramp. The City Council
has previously approved the $2.00 fee that will be charged for evening "pay as you
enter". The fees represented in this memo are for other operational times.
ACTION REQUIRED
The action requested is for the City Manager and City Council to approve the
recommended fees for the 4th Street Ramp.
