MEMBERS PRESENT: Sr. Carol Hoverman (Chair), Mark Dolson (Vice-Chair), Jennifer Tigges,
Pauline Maloney, Ron Tigges.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Alan Vincent, Kathy McMullen.

Hoverman called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Malone, seconded by Dolson, the agenda was approved 5 - 0.
Approval of the Minutes of March 1, 2017
Upon a motion by JTigges, seconded by Dolson, minutes of the March 1, 2017, meeting were
approved 5 - 0.
Public Input
There was no public input.
Information Services Storage Server Solution
Kohlmann and Burds provided a brief overview of the City's storage server solution which includes
more than 100 TB for Cable TV video clips. Kohlmann noted the scalability of the solution and its
lower cost per GB of storage versus other solutions.
Grant Letters
Nowack provided an update regarding the University of Dubuque PEG programming that's required
under the grant agreement. Per the Commission's request, he sent another letter to UD asking for a
list of the programming produced in calendar year 2016. UD responded via e-mail with a list of
programming shared in 2016. Nowack replied asking for confirmation that this programming was
submitted to and aired on the shared educational access channel and has not yet received a reply.
The consensus among commissioners was to wait to see if a response is received by next month's
meeting.
Mediacom Cable Report
Barefoot had nothing to report.
Cable TV Report
Nowack informed the Commission that he had produced two programs so far this week, for Taste of
the World and Mayors Day of Recognition, and that tomorrow the Cable TV Division will be
participating in training for responding to an emergency with other local officials. He noted that a
simulated press conference is planned and will air live on CityChannel Dubuque. He also reminded
the Commission that next month City Clerk Kevin Firnstahl is expected to attend the meeting to
answer questions about Iowa's Open Meetings Law and other commission rules.

Upon a motion by JTigges, seconded by Dolson, the meeting was adjourned at 4:31 p.m.
