WHEREAS, the Dubuque Noon Lions Club is celebrating 95 years of service to the
Dubuque community, the State of Iowa, and the world-wide community;
and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Noon Lions Club is a charitable organization working
primarily to improve the lives of visually and hearing-impaired citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Noon Lions Club during its 95 years of existence in
Dubuque, Iowa, has helped many hundreds of Dubuque citizens by
means of providing children's vision screening, exams and glasses, white
canes, etc., and
WHEREAS, by reason of the above and foregoing, the citizens of Dubuque have
benefited tremendously from countless volunteer hours donated by the
members of the Dubuque Noon Lions Club.
NOW THEREFORE, I ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, COUNCIL, STAFF, AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF MAY 8 THROUGH MAY 15, 2017 AS
"DUBUQUE NOON LIONS 95T" ANNIVERSARY WEEK"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND URGE THE CITIZENS TO CONTINUE
THEIR SUPPORT OF THE DUBUQUE NOON LIONS CLUB IN ITS EFFORTS TO
SERVE THE NEEDS OF THIS COMMUNITY.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
hereunto set my hand and caused the
