Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Don Vogt, Operations and Maintenance Manager SUBJECT: Audubon Society Bulletin Board INTRODUCTION The purpose of this memorandum is to solicit approval to accept and install a bulletin board donated by the Dubuque Audubon Society. DISCUSSION. Late last year, I received a letter from the Society's president, Wayne Buchholtz, indicating the group's desire to donate a bulletin board for the park area on the west side of the East 16th Street stormwater detention basin. He noted the Society's intent that the bulletin board be installed near the wildlife observation shelter previously donated by the group. After meeting with you to discuss the request, I conveyed the City's requirements regarding review of postings and ownership - all contingent upon approval by the City Council. By the attached letter, the Society has agreed to our conditions. RECOMMENDATION I recommend that the donation of the bulletin board by the Dubuque Audubon Society be accepted by you and the City Council and that staff be directed to install and maintain same, as per the conditions acknowledged by Mr. Buckholtz.
