Meeting Called to Order
The special meeting of the Dubuque County Emergency Management Commission was called to order at 7:33 p.m.by
Chairperson Mike Wuertzer. Chair Wuertzer welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked them for attending.

Determination of Quorum
Sign in sheets were distributed. After introductions it was determined that we had a quorum with 14 jurisdictions
present.

Resolution 17-01 Approving Amendment to Iowaeland Security and
Emergency n ment Contract to update the Dubuque County Multijurisdictional
Hazard i a tin Pan
Tom updated the commission on the Hazard Mitigation Plan Process. Our current plan is valid until 2018. The state has
selected a vendor to work with the counties to update the local plans. The original estimate was that the commission
will be responsible for the local cash match of$7,500.00 anti the grant will provide$22,500.00 for a total of$30,000.00
to update the plan for Dubuque County. The actual cost of the plan came in higher than anticipated so the commission
20%match increased to$8,286.00. This will not affect the budget as it will be able to be included over the next two
fiscal years. A motion was made by Rob Weidenbacher and second by Marty Benda to approve the resolution amending
the local match of$8,286.00 and allowing Chair Wuertzer and EMA Director Berger to execute contract documents as
required by Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Motion carried.

The next regular meeting of the Dubuque County Emergency Management Commission will be held on Tuesday, May
2nd, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Dubuque County Firefighters Association Regional Emergency Responder Training Facility—
Classroom West.
