RE: ADMIRAL STREET - STORM WATER DETENTION
Dear Mr. Mayor and Members of the Council:
Kathy and I want to thank you for your efforts and the efforts of City staff and others in
connection with controlling the storm water problem along the rear of our home on Admiral Street.
We believe the record rains of this week were a good test for the new storm water detention system
which was constructed to the west of the Northwest Arterial. While we know that you have other
improvements and changes in store for this area, we are happy to report that we had no water
whatsoever during this past storm. There was a brief period where we were again concerned when
the creek to the rear of our home went out of its banks, but it never reached our home. We are sure
that, without the new detention basin, our home would have been hit again.
Thank you for your efforts in this area. While you often times hear complaints from citizens,
please know that many citizens appreciate your efforts, particularly with infrastructure
improvements.
