ITEM TITLE: Operating Engineers Local 234 -Amendment to the
Collective Bargaining Agreement
SUMMARY: City Manager recommending that the Collective Bargaining
Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the
International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #234 be
amended to provide additional compensation in the amount
of$150 per pay period when a Grade 4 Water Plant
Operator is assigned the responsibility of maintaining and
signing the Water Department monthly operating reports
that are submitted to the Department of Natural Resources.

The City of Dubuque's Department of Natural Resources Water Supply Operation
permit requires the City to maintain and submit monthly operating reports to the
Department of Natural Resources. These reports must be signed by a Grade 4 Plant

Personnel Manager Randy Peck recommends that the Collective Bargaining Agreement
between the City of Dubuque and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local
#234 be amended to provide additional compensation in the amount of$150 per pay
period when a Grade 4 Water Plant Operator is assigned the responsibility of
maintaining and signing the Water Department monthly operating reports that are
submitted to the Department of Natural Resources.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE
INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL #234
AND
THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA
The parties hereby agree to amend the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the
City of Dubuque and the International Union of Operating. Engineers, Local 234 to
provide additional compensation in the amount of $150 per pay period when a Grade 4
Water Plant Operator is assigned the responsibility of maintaining and signing the Water
Department monthly operating reports that are submitted to the Department of Natural
Resources.
