SUBJECT: Jackson Park Street Lighting Project

Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Jackson Park
Street Lighting Project was awarded on May 18, 2017, to Hawkeye Electric, in the base
bid amount of$78,874.10.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Jackson Park Street
Lighting Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Jackson Park Street Lighting Project
The Jackson Park Street Lighting Project will provide for the installation of 15 light
foundations and the associated conduit. Also, a new lighting controller foundation will be
installed in the North-West corner of the park as part of this project. After this project is
complete, the City will install the wiring, light poles and fixtures. The City previously
purchased the light poles and fixtures at a cost of$45,083 and the control cabinet at a cost
of$10,361. Once the new lighting in the Jackson Park is operational, the old foundations
will be removed by the contractor. Shortly after this project is completed City Staff will be
installing cameras throughout Jackson Park. The underground construction portion of this
project is summarized below.
The following is a summary of bids received for the Jackson Park Street Lighting Project:

Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on May 18, 2017 to Hawkeye Electric of Dubuque, Iowa, in the base bid amount
of$78,874.10.
This portion of the project will be funded by the following CIP:
