Revenue collected was at 87% of projections. The Board approved expenditures made during the past month. • Library use was up slightly during the month of May. Dubuque library cardholders checked out about 2% more items compared to May of last year. Open Access borrowing increased 7% for the first time since restrictions were implemented. • The Library is preparing a few test runs for materials between Carnegie- Stout and the Asbury Branch of the County Library System. The new service will launch on July 1 . This pilot program will provide drop-off and pick-up of materials between the two libraries and is intended to expand library services for residents living in the west side of Dubuque. The two libraries will evaluate the program in December. • The position of Marketing Coordinator was discussed and after reviewing guidelines from the Internal Revenue Service and the US Department of Labor, provided by City Personnel, the Board agreed the job described that of an employee as opposed to an independent contractor. The position description was changed slightly with approval to move forward. • Three original Kate Van Duzee art works are for sale by a private individual in Virginia. The Board agreed that the two paintings and one charcoal drawing would enhance the Library's existing collection and requested pictures to determine condition prior to offering a purchase price.
