SUBJECT: 2017 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Three
DATE: August 1, 2017
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the 2017 Asphalt
Overlay Access Ramp Project Three was awarded on July 18, 2017, to Midwest
Concrete, Inc., in the base bid amount of $79,815.15.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the 2017 Asphalt Overlay
Access Ramp Project Three be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: 2017 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Three
The 2017 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp Project Three will provide for the removal,
realignment and reconstruction of thirty-two (32) corner access ramps in the area of
Garfield, Windsor, Rhomberg, Lincoln, E 22nd, Providence, Queen, Regent and E 24th
Streets. The project will coincide with the Public Works Department Street Overlay
Program.
The following is a summary of bids received for the 2017 Asphalt Overlay Access Ramp
Project Three:

Midwest Concrete, Inc. $79,815.15
Drew Cook & Sons Excavating, Inc. $105,044.82
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on July 18, 2017 to Midwest Concrete, Inc. of Peosta, Iowa, in the base bid
amount of $79,815.15.
This portion of the funding will be funded as follows:
