MINUTES
Government Body: CITY OF DUBUQUE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Place of Meeting: City Hall, Conference Room A, 50 W 13th St.
Present: Commissioners Dan White, Christian Stillings
Also present: Randy Peck, John Klostermann, Rick Steines
1. Approval of minutes from the June 29, 2017 meeting. Motion by White to approve the minutes as
submitted. Second by Stillings. Motion carried 2-0.
2. Establish the passing score for the Fire Promotional examination of Medical Officer. Motion by
White to approve the passing score of 73 and above correct answers as recommended by Fire
Chief Rick Steines and certify the list for the position of Medical Officer as read for one year.
Second by Stillings. Motion carried 2-0. Chief Steines left the meeting at 4:41 p.m.
3. Establish the passing score for the position of Landfill Foreman. Motion by White to approve the
passing score of 54 (66.7%) and above correct answers and certify the list for the position of
Landfill Foreman as read for two years. Second by Stillings. Motion carried 2-0.
4. Schedule a promotional examination for the position of Equipment Operator I. Motion by White to
set the application deadline for August 25, 2017 at 5 p.m. with an examination date of Sept. 6,
2017. Second by Stillings. Commissioner Stillings to proctor. Motion carried 2-0.
5. Schedule a promotional examination for the position of Equipment Operator II. Motion by White to set
the application deadline for August 16, 2017 at 5 p.m. with an examination date of August 29, 2017.
Second by Stillings. Commissioner White to proctor. Motion carried 2-0.
6. Adjournment. Motion by White to adjourn at 4:52 p.m. Second by Stillings. Motion carried 2-0.
