SUBJECT: Annexation Request of Wayne and Lynn Stewart
Wayne and Lynn Stewart have requested annexation of 20 acres of property on Old
Highway Road, west of Seippel Road, in conjunction with rezoning to light industrial.
The Zoning Advisory Commission is scheduled to consider the rezoning request on
July 10, 2002.
The State of Iowa recently increased the notification period for annexation requests.
The new deadlines go into effect on July 1, 2002. To meet these requirements,
Planning Services Manager Laura Carstens is recommending that the City Council set a
public hearing on the Stewarts' annexation request for August 5, 2002.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

A map of the subject parcel is enclosed. The Zoning Advisory Commission is scheduled
to consider the rezoning request on July 10, 2002.
The State of Iowa recently increased the notification period for annexation requests.
The new deadlines go into effect on July 1, 2002. To meet these requirements, I am
recommending that the City Council set a public hearing on the Stewarts' annexation
request for August 5, 2002.
A staff report, resolution and the Zoning Advisory Commission's recommendation will be
available for the public hearing.
