ON
WHEREAS, the month of October 2017 has been proclaimed "Make a Will Month,"
and a group of community leaders has formed a committee to initiate
the month-long effort to increase the number of people who have wills;
and
WHEREAS, the Wills Committee's program will be known as "Make a Will Month —
A Tri-State Initiative;" and
WHEREAS, over one half of all adults have not completed a Will and subject
themselves to having the state dictate their wishes; and
WHEREAS, when you have a Will, you have the power to decide who will take care
of your children, receive your belongings and carry out your wishes;
and
WHEREAS, the "Make a Will Month — A Tri-State Initiative" will hold informational
sessions on October 3, 5, and 10 to provide citizens in the tri-state
area with information necessary to complete a Will.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2017, AS:
"MAKE A WILL MONTH"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
