PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING / FACILITY TOUR

MINUTES APPROVED; VOTE:
It was moved l Kirkendall. seconded l Larson, to approve the minutes of the
August 8 2017, meeting. Unanimous.
It was moved l Kirkendall. seconded l Kuhle, to approve the minutes of the
August 23, 2017 special meeting. Unanimous.
USAGE AGREEMENT WITH HILLCREST SERVICES FOR MURPHY PARK;
VOTE:
Hillcrest Family Services requested to renew their agreement to provide
Reflections in the Park at Murphy Park. The proposed agreement is the same
as last year with date changes and current insurance information.
It was moved l Klinge, seconded la Kirkendall, to recommend approval of the
Usage Agreement with Hillcrest Family Services to hold Reflections in the Park
at Murphy Park. Unanimous.
DISCUSS LETTER REGARDING IMPACT OF ROUNDABOUT RELATED TO
ALLISON-HENDERSON PARK AND SET OCTOBER 10, 2017 AS PUBLIC
INPUT MEETING; VOTE:
Commissioners received a letter from the Engineering Department expressing
notice of intent that the roundabout project near Allison -Henderson Park will
impact the park and that a public input meeting needs to be scheduled. Leisure
Services Manager Ware explained that the roundabout itself will only affect the
corner of the park; the biggest impact will be where the bus transfer station will
have to go.
It was moved a Larson, seconded l Klinge, to set October 10 2017 as public
hearing related to impact of roundabout on Allison -Henderson Park.
Unanimous.

FACILITY TOUR:
Commissioners and staff boarded trolley at 4:45 p.m. to visit the following
department facilities: Valley High Park, Gay Park, Rocco Buda Jr. Park, Avon
Park, Waller -Cooper Park, Hilltop Park, Caledona Park / Hill Street open space,
Jackson Park and Madison Park. Trolley returned to Bunker Hill at
approximately 7:00 p.m.
ADJOURN; VOTE:
It was moved l Klinge seconded la Kirkendall to adjourn the meeting at 7:10
p.m. Unanimous.
