Proclamation - Fair WeekPROCI AMATION
Whereas,
the citizens of Dubuque and the surrounding counties have for49 years
been participants of the County Fair, and they support the 4-H and FFA
Youth and volunteers who share generously of their time and talents;
and
Whereas,
the theme for the 2002 Dubuque County Fair is "Patriotism." Since
September 11~h it is ever more important to recognize the significance
of our community and our family traditions; and
Whereas,
the Fair is a community event that everyone can participate in, from
creative arts exhibition to the demolition derby. The many animals,
exhibits, demonstrations, programs and entertainment add up to a
unique recreational activity; and
Whereas; attendance at the Dubuque County Fair has reached almost 80,000 over
the six full days; and
Whereas, the Dubuque County Fair officially opens on Tuesday, July 23, and
runs through Sunday, July 28, 2002.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF JULY 23 TO JULY 28,
2002 AS:
"DUBUQUE COUNTY FAIR 'WEEK"
AND ENCOURAGE THE PARTICIPATION OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA.
WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto
set my hand and caused the Great
Seal of the City of Dubuque, IA to be
affixed this 15th day of July, 2002.
