SUBJECT: Miller-Riverview Park Campsite Re-wiring Project
Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence is recommending acceptance of the Miller-
Riverview Park Campsite Re-wiring Project, as completed by Biechler Electric, in the
final contract amount of $66,549.69.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Miller-Riverview Park Campsite Re-wiring Project
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to request City Council approval of the attached
resolutions accepting the contract for construction of the Miller-Riverview Park Campsite
Re-wiring Project.
DISCUSSION
The campsite re-wiring project has been completed by Biechter Electric. This is a
significant improvement and much better serves the users of the park. This was phase I of
the project and provided twenty-six new poles that will provide electricity for fifty-four
camping units. Each pole has twenty, thirty and fifty amp service. Phase II will then add
the remaining twenty-three poles that will serve an additional forty-six camping units.
A summary of the project is as follows:

ACTION STEP
The action requested is that the City Council adopt the attached resolutions accepting the
improvement and establishing the final contract amount.

RESOLUTION NO. 357-02
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, the contract for the MILLER-RIVERVIEW PARK CAMPSITE RE-
WIRING PROJECT has been completed and the City Manager has examined the work and
filed his certificate stating that the same has been completed according to the terms of the
contract, plans and specifications and recommends its acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
1. That the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and that said
improvement be and the same is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby directed
to pay to the contractor from the General Fund in amount equal to the amount of his
contract, less any retained percentage provided for therein.

RESOLUTION NO. 358-02
FINAL ESTIMATE
WHEREAS, the contract for the MILLER-RIVERVIEW PARK CAMPSITE RE-
WIRING PROJECT has been completed and the Engineer has submitted his final estimate
showing the cost thereof including the cost of estimates, notices and inspection and all
miscellaneous costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the cost of said improvement is hereby determined to be
$66,549.69, and the said amount shall be paid from the General Fund of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
