Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the J F Kennedy
Ditch Improvement Project was awarded on October 17, 2017, to Temperley
Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $109,177.10.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the J F Kennedy Ditch
Improvement Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

The J F Kennedy Ditch Improvement project will involve the construction of 4 new storm
intakes and 2 new storm manholes. There is approximately 595 feet of 24" HDPE pipe, 900
feet of 6" perforated subdrain, and 420 LF of concrete curb & gutter to be installed.
The following is a summary of bids received for the J F Kennedy Ditch Improvement

awarded on October 17, 2017 to Temperley Excavating, Inc. of East Dubuque, IL, in the
base bid amount of $109,177.10

This improvement project is required for the sanitary sewer extension to the Rustic Point
subdivision and was not a budgeted capital improvement project during the FY2018

In accordance with the competitive quotation requirements of Iowa Code, Section 26.14, it
is necessary that the award for the J F Kennedy Ditch Improvement project be officially
recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
