Dear Mayor Buol:
On January 30, 2008, MCC Iowa LLC ("Mediacom") filed an initial application with the Iowa Utilities
Board ("IUB") for a certificate of franchise authority to provide cable service. On February 14, 2008, the
IUB issued Mediacom a certificate of franchise authority (C-0002) for an initial period of ten years. On
October 8, 2009, Mediacom added City of Dubuque to Certificate C-0002.
Pursuant to IAC 199-44.7, "[t]hirty days prior to the tenth anniversary of the issuance of the original
certificate [emphasis added] and every ten years thereafter, the certificate holder shall file with the board a
notice of renewal...." Accordingly, on January 14, 2018, Mediacom will file a notice of renewal with the
IUB to continue to serve City of Dubuque.
