Pascual, Amy, Cable & Traffic L7/26/02
Dear Mayor Duggan an City Council
I wanted to echo the
seniments expressed in these
2 letters. I feel very
strongly about both issues. I
think the City of Dubuque
could and should provide a very competitive
and basic cable service to
its citizens. I think we are
discriminating against the elderly
and other low income families in
our failure to do so. I'm not a
huge fan of TV, but for some,
it is their main source of
entertainment.
And the highway issue is
so serious - I've driven out
the stretch from Grandview to
Menards and beyond many times
this summer. It is so
congested and so dangerous.
Often you have to sit through
several light changes to proceed.
This is not a good image to
present of Dubuque, and as I
stated, it is dangerous. There is
a huge need for a frontage
road. That may be many
eyars away. I realize, but for
now, the lights need to be
better timed. People at crossroads
intersections would have to wait
longer in some instances, but
people could be made aware of
that. And signs must be
posted for trucks. They swerve
in and out of lanes, and
cause bottlenecks which ikmpede traffic flow. I'm not sure if this is your issue to deal with
or not, but it is a Dubuque
citzen concerna nd reflects
poorly upon our image.
Thank you for listening.
Sincerely,
Amy Pascual
