Proclamation "Tour de Dubuque"PROCI AMATION
WHEREAS, Hospice of Dubuque meets the medical and nursing needs of
terminally ill patients in eastern Iowa, western Illinois and
southwestern Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, HOspice fulfills the psychological, social and spiritual needs of
patients and their families, providing the quality of care that allows
people to live well at the end of life; and
WHEREAS, the staff and volunteers of Hospice are reliable and kind companions
to patients and their loved ones on their life's journey; and
WHEREAS, the "Custom Riders" of Dubuque made up of 75 motorcyclists,
sponsored by Hospice friends and relatives, will travel the 4th Annual
Tour de Dubuque on Saturday, August 24, 2002 from the Hospice
office on John F. Kennedy Road to Illinois and Wisconsin and back,
to raise funds for Hospice.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2002 AS:
"TOUR de DUBUQUE DAY"
IN DUBUQUE, IOWA AND ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE THE SUPPORT AND
PARTICIPATION OF FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND FELLOW CITIZENS IN THE 4TM
ANNUAL TOUR de DUBUQUE RIDE TO BENEFIT HOSPICE OF DUBUQUE.
