Re: Voluntary Annexation
Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members:
This letter is wdtten as a request for voluntary annexation to the City of
Dubuque. Grandview Avenue United Methodist Chumh has begun construction
on its new facility at 3342 John Wesley Drive, which was annexed in 1999. We
have installed sewer, water and street improvements on the site and anxiously
await the completion of John F Kennedy Road in front of our property.
Grandview Avenue UMC also owns a parcel immediately southwest of the
current campus which is legally described as
Lot I of 2 of Mineral Lot 459
in Section 16, Township 89 North,
Range 2 East of the 5th Principal Meddian
In Dubuque County Iowa.
This 26.398 acre parcel abuts Asbury Plaza property on the south and a portion
of the west boundary, and county agricultural land on the west and north. Our
chumh property and the Dubuque Community Schools property, currently within
the city limits abut on the east side.
In order to adequately serve this 26 acre parcel with sewer, water, police and
fire protection, Grandview Avenue United Methodist Chumh requests to have
the area annexed to the City of Dubuque.
If you need additional information please contact me at 582-8875.
