preservation issues. City of Dubuque Historic Preservation Commissioners and Staff
presented programs and attended events.
2
The City of Dubuque sponsored and hosted a National Alliance of Preservation
Commissions (NAPC) Commission Assistance and Mentoring Program (CAMP). The
event included a number of speakers and addressed Legal Issues, Standards and
Guidelines, Public Support, and Hands on Design. The event was advertised to
preservation commissions and contacts in the States of Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and
Minnesota. Representatives from each of the States were in attendance as well as City of
Dubuque Historic Preservation Commissioners and Staff.
The City of Dubuque Planning Services Staff gave an educational historical tour to
Simpson College Students. The trolley tour was for Senior Colloquium students.

Preservation Commission to recognize excellence in historic preservation. The awards
are announced annually during National Historic Preservation Month for the best
rehabilitation projects in the city of Dubuque. The award is named after the late Ken
Kringle for his dedication to historic preservation through his involvement as a member
and past Chairperson of the Historic Preservation Commission, President of the Bluff
Street Neighborhood Association, resident of the Cathedral Historic District, and
member of the Old House Enthusiasts Club.
