Proclam Make a Will Month WHEREAS, the month of October, 2002 has been proclaimed as “Make a Will Month” and a group of community leaders has formed to initiate the month-long effort to increase the number of people who have wills; and WHEREAS, the Wills committee’s program will be known as “Make a Will Month – A Tri-State Initiative;” and WHEREAS, over one half of adults do not have a will completed and subject themselves to having the state dictate their wishes; and WHEREAS, when you have a Will, you have the power to decide who will take care of your children, who will receive your belongings and also provide that your wishes are carried out; and WHEREAS, the “Make a Will Month – A Tri-State Initiative” will hold informational th sessions on October 10, 13, 15, 20, 22, and 24 at the Carnegie Stout Public Library and Mercy West to help citizens in the tri-state area with information necessary to complete their will. NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, 2002, AS: “MAKE A WILL MONTH” IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
