Dear Mr. Brown:
Thank you for submitting the Biennial Report for the historic federal building formerly
known as the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse (GSA Control No. 7-G-IA-0495), located
in Dubuque at 350 West Sixth Street. The building appears to be in excellent condition
and continues to serve the needs of the City and community. We are pleased to see that
the building has been carefully rehabilitated to accommodate use by staff with the City of
Dubuque, the City Council, and several tenants. Thank you for sharing information about
the large number of individuals that visit the building each day and the benefits that the
City has reaped in the short time that it has owned the property.
We greatly appreciate the care that the City has given to this historic building,
particularly the restoration of the historic window panels and conversion of the historic
courtrooms and jury deliberation rooms to meeting space. Please do not hesitate to
contact me at 402-661-1928 or by electronic mail at rachel_franklin-weekley@nps.gov if
you have any questions or concerns regarding the continued use and maintenance of the
building. I wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Rachel Franklin Weekley
