Dear Ms. Larson:
Thank you for your letter of February 2, 2009 regarding the budget hearing process for the
Purchase of Services section of the FY2010 Budget. I was very pleased to see that SASC has
been recommended to receive $14,013. Local funding is so critical for us at this time.
Unfortunately, i will be unable to attend the budget hearing, as I will be in Des Moines
presenting at a statewide meeting of substance abuse professionals., Ihope this will not impact
the recommended funding for SASC. If this is a problem, please let me know.

Jennifer, I am out of town on Feb. 23 and Denise Grant has a conflicting meeting therefore we will be
unable to attend evening with the City Council as they review the Purchase of Services funding for
2010.
Please understand that our absence is not for lack of interest. Any consideration the City Council
might give to our request for the BOOST program will be most appreciated.
