Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
I am writing on behalf of the Grand Opera House Foundation. The GOH Foundation will submit
a grant application to the Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) program though Vision
Iowa in early December 2002. The CAT Program requires that the applying organization has
received both city and county support of their proposed project.
I respectfully request that you submit a letter of support for our CAT application and to document
the fact that Grand Opera House project will receive $26,700 in city funding for Phase II of the
restoration. These funds will be used for the Grand sign, which will promote events for the entire
downtown area.
In advance, the staff, board members, and many friends of the Grand Opera House thank the City
of Dubuque and the City Council for its ongoing support of our restoration
