Meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M. by Acting Chair Wilienborg ane announced that it
was being conducted in accordance with Iowa Open Meetings Law.
Order of business was as follows:
Discussion was held about individuals with a license who take a permit out for
unlicensed individuals. This is the reason the Mechanical Board recommended to
the city to adopt a requirement for apprentice/helpers and add journeyman sheet
metal test to list of competencies.
If the reason that the recommendation has not been taken to the City Council is
because the Building Official does not think that we have the manpower for
enforcement, then they recommend we hire an inspector.
Motion made by Dave Stuart to re-submit proposal, seconded by Harlan Willenborg.
Approved by all present.
Mike Kelly asked the question, "When the board makes a recommendation to the
City Council, does the Building Official have the right to withhold it?"
Mike Kelly moved to adjourn the meeting, Jack Papin seconded and the motion
carried. Meeting adjourned at 4:55 P.M.
