Customers will start seeing the new Black Hills Energy logo on facility signs and vehicles throughout its Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska natural gas and electric service territories. "We've worked to provide a smooth transition for our customers since the acquisition in July," said Black Hills Energy Operations Manager of Eastern Iowa Natural Gas Operations, Mark Ernst. "Although our name has changed to Black Hills Energy, safety, reliability and customer service remain our highest priorities." In addition to buildings and vehicles, customers will continue to see the new Black Hills Energy branding on their monthly bill, on service crew uniforms, and on other company promotional materials and in ads. The majority of re-branding for Black Hills Energy is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year. The company notified customers and the public of the acquisition and name change through various means of communication after the sale was finalized. Black Hills Energy's customers, state and municipal officials and other leaders in Iowa communities have received letters and mailers that announced the completion of the sale and also provided new customer and emergency phone numbers. Additionally, the company placed newspaper ads announcing the name change in communities served by Black Hills Energy. The customer newsletter included with November bills featured information about the re-branding, and another mailing was sent to customers last week. - more - Black Hills Energy Page 2 Customers can reach the company around the clock seven days a week at 1-888-890- 5554. This new customer number went into service July 14, and company statistics show that approximately 75 percent of customers who call the company now use the new number. Black Hills Energy's new 24-hour gas and electric emergency number - 1-800-694-8989 - also went into service at that time. Customers can access their account information and complete several other online services at the company's new Web site, www.blackhill senergy. com.
