Aviles, President and CEO/ Dubuque Racing Association Issue: Parking lot repair necessary due to settling � As required in the Amended and Restated lease Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the Dubuque Racing LTD., I am formally requesting City approval to repair four sections of the Q Casino parking lot. Because the area for this improvement is on the old landfill, the ground will be removed to a depth of 18 inches below current grade, the old piers and light bases will be removed and the black top will be replaced. My recommendation for this expenditure is $5,922.00. The source of the funding for the project is the Depreciation and Improvement Fund (D&I Fund) which has a balance of$861,899.25 and an available amount of$611,899.25. The required minimum for the D&I Fund is $250,000 per the City/DRA Lease Agreement. If you require additional information or further clarification, pleas� contact me. Aviles, President and CEO/ Dubuque Racing Association Issue: ADA accessibility to Administration offices, IRGC offices and DCI offices As required in the Amended and Restated lease Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the Dubuque Racing LTD., I am formally requesting City approval to tear out the current exterior stairwell leading to the Administration offices, the IRGC offices and the DCI offices located at Q Casino. I am also seeking approval to tear out and replace the existing sidewalks located around the Hilton pool area. Because the area for this improvement is on the old landfill, the addition of the ADA handicapped accessible ramp along with the reduced size adjoining stairwell will need to be placed on pylons to keep the ramp from settling separate from the building. This will include removing and replacing the existing stairwell and adding an ADA compliant ramp to the main entrance. My recommendation for this expenditure is $85,000.00. IIW Engineering in Dubuque developed drawings and estimated project costs. A copy of the drawings and proposed build costs are included on the latter pages. The source of the funding for the project is the Depreciation and Improvement Fund (D&I Fund) which has a balance of$861,899.25 and an available amount of$511,593.25. Aviles, President and CEO/ Dubuque Racing Association Issue: Failing flat roof on Hilton Main Entrance and Houlihan's Restaurant As required in the Amended and Restated lease Agreement between the City of Dubuque and the Dubuque Racing LTD., I am formally requesting City approval to tear off the current flat rubber roof on the Hilton Main Entrance and lobby as well as Houlihan's Restaurant. The existing roof was installed incorrectly and in turn dramatically shortened the life of the roof. Several areas of the roof pitch incorrectly, causing the roof to retain water. Not all areas around the exhaust hoods are lined with a PVC protector. The new roof inembrane will be added with an additional insulation overlay allowing water to flow correctly and increase the efficiency of the buildings. All areas requiring access to work on units and all areas surrounding the exhaust hoods will be protected with a PVC membrane. My recommendation for this expenditure is $85,000.00.
