The Historic Preservation Commission would like to extend our support for Mr.
John Gronen's application for Iow income housing tax credits for the rehabilitation
of histodc buildings in Upper Main Area at 1042, 1066, 1086, and 1091 Main
Street and 248 W. 11th Street
The Historic Preservation Commission is in full support of the adaptive reuse and
rehabilitation of these historic buildings to create housing units on the upper
levels and thriving commercial storefronts on the street level. The commitment to
rehab these structures will spur additional investment in the Upper Main area of
Downtown Dubuque.
The rehabilitation of these sfmctures will meet the City of Dubuque's goals for:
revitalization of downtown, investment in the Upper Main area, preservation of
historic and architectural resources, and creation of affordable housing
downtown. Your approval of Mr. Gronen's proposal will help ensure that these
buildings provide viable affordable housing units in Downtown Dubuque.
