City Council, Special Session, November 25, 2002
Council met in Special Session at 6:30 P.M. in the Library Auditorium
Present: Mayor Pro-Tem Buol, Council Members Cline, Connors, Markham, City Manager
Michael Van Milligen, Corporation Counsel Barry Lindahl.
Absent: Mayor Duggan, Council Members Michalski, Nicholson.
Mayor Pro-Tem Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council
called for the purpose of discussing the Port of Dubuque land sale.
Upon motion the rules were suspended to allow anyone present to speak.
Port of Dubuque Land Sale: Proof of publication on notice of hearing to consider the sale of
property in the Port of Dubuque to Dubuque Initiatives and City Manager recommending
approval, upon motion received and filed. Markham moved adoption of Resolution No. 619-
02 Determining that the proposal of Dubuque Initiatives to purchase the Dubuque
Hardwoods property is in compliance with the terms of the offering for the disposition of the
Dubuque Hardwoods property in the City of Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa and Resolution
No. 620-02 Accepting the proposal of Dubuque Initiatives for the purchase and development
of the Dubuque Hardwoods property in the City of Dubuque, Iowa, and approving the offer to
buy real estate and acceptance for the property. Seconded by Cline. Motion carried 4-0.
Upon motion the rules were reinstated limiting discussion to the Council.
There being no further business, upon motion meeting adjourned at 6:39 P.M.
