Dear Ms. Schneider:
Mediacom is committed to providing your community with the highest quality and most affordable
bundle of communications services available in the marketplace. Over the past year, we have raised
the speeds of our fastest Internet service to 20 mbps downstream by 2 mbps upstream, faster than any
other residential service in your community, introduced high-definition channels including such
networks as ESPN HD, ESPN 2 HD, Discovery Home Theatre, CNN-HD, TBS-HD, TNT-HD, USA-
HD, Sci-Fi HD, and WGN-HD, at no additional cost to our Digital customers, and launched the
popular Big Ten Network.
We strive to keep our expenses under control. However, our costs that include programming and
health care continue to escalate. In addition, we have been required to invest millions of dollars in
our fiber optic network to help prepare our systems for the digital transition that will be completed in
June 2009.
To cover these increased costs, we now find it necessary to implement the following rate changes on
or about May 15, 2009:

Total Family Cable $ 57.70 $ 61.90 $ 4.20
Since a growing number of Mediacom customers are now taking advantage of our bundle of cable
television, high-speed Internet and phone services, the rate changes outlined above will reflect less
than a 4.5% increase on the average customer's bill. Customers currently on promotional rates will
not receive this rate change until the expiration of their respective promotional period.

Subject: Premium Package Rate Change
Dear Ms. Schneider:
We work hard to control costs in order to keep our prices fair and reasonable. In fact, Mediacom has
led the cable TV industry fight against higher rates from local broadcast stations, sports networks
and other cable networks.
In spite of these efforts, costs continue to rise. Recent, unavoidable increases in premium
programming and operating costs make it necessary for us to adjust rates for some of our packages
and services.
Effective on or about May 1, 2009 the wire maintenance fee will increase by $1.00 and premium
programming packages will be adjusted as indicated below:

We understand that in tough economic times a rate increase from us is the last thing you want to see.
Rest assured that we do not do this lightly. These changes will allow us to continue improving our
service and reliability so that Mediacom remains the number one choice for Video, Internet and
Phone service.
