Chapter 34 of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by adding thereto the following new section: Sec. 34-132. John G. Bergfeld Recreation Area: The following described parcel of real estate is and shall be used for public park purposes and shall be continued to be known, called and named as "John G. Bergfeld Recreation Area" and placed under the jurisdiction of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission: Area surrounding the two ponds on the east and west sides of Seippel Road at the Dubuque Industrial Center West. Spence, Leisure Services Manager SUBJECT: Code of Ordinances Pertaining to Parks and Recreation INTRODUCTION The purpose of this memorandum is to request City Council approval of revisions to the Code of Ordinances pertaining to parks and recreation. DISCUSSION Attached are the proposed changes prepared by Corporation Counsel Barry Lindahl for action by the City Council. There are only two changes being proposed. The John G. Bergfeld Recreation Area at the Dubuque Industrial Center West is being added to the code. Sec. 34-5&. Dogs, Cats, Etc. is being changed to allow pets in Miller-Riverview Park, Granger Creek Nature Trail, and the John G. Bergfeld Recreation Area. Pets would still not be allowed in all other parks. ACTION STEP The action requested is that the City Council approve these revisions to the Code of Ordinances.
