Heiar, Economic Development Director RE: Project HOPE Logo BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION The Project HOPE Steering Committee has been discussing the need for a Project HOPE logo for about six months. The logo will provide a visual to help raise awareness and educate the community about the mission of Project HOPE. The logo will represent Project HOPE's involvement when we sponsor or partner to host events and programs. Additionally, the logo could be attached to programs and projects in the community that shared a similar mission of improving the economic situation for those that are unemployed and underemployed. For example, the Getting Ahead program is not administered by Project HOPE, however it shares similar goals. We could attach our logo to this program to show the public that this program helps meet the goals of Project HOPE in our community. Tim Olson, AmeriCorps Promise Fellow at the Community Foundation, created two logos for the steering committee to review. On March 13, 2009, the Project HOPE Steering Committee met and selected a logo to be sent to the City Council for approval. The committee voted unanimously for the attached, logo. This logo represents the community and provides a positive, empowering feeling. The Project HOPE Steering Committee hopes the City Council will approve this logo as a visual representation of Project HOPE. RECOMMENDATION For the City Council to approve the attached logo as the visual system of Project HOPE. F:\USER~\®Heiar\Project Hope\Conncil Logo Memo.doc ~~~"~..
