SUBJECT: Grandview Avenue Street Light and Fiber Project
DATE: December 22, 2017
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Grandview
Avenue Street Light and Fiber Project was awarded on December 19, 2017, to Eastern
lowa Directional Drillers, LLC, in the final contract amount of$36,695.50, which is
56.14°k less than the engineer's estimate of$83,670.00.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Grandview Avenue
Street Light and Fiber Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Grandview Avenue Street Light and Fiber Project
DATE: December 20, 2017
The Grandview Avenue Street Light and Fiber Project will involve the reconstruction of
street lighting and install fiber conduit from Hwy 20 and Grandview north along Grandview
to Delhi Street. There is approximately 1,455 feet of 2" conduit to be installed with
handholes for street lighting and 2,000 feet of fiber conduit along with fiber vaults. This is
the first phase of the project. Additional phases will extend the conduit to Grandview and
Hwy 61/151 and the installation of new streetlight poles once all the conduit is in place.
The following is a summary of bids received for the Grandview Avenue Street Light and
Fiber Project:
