INTRODUCTION
This memo is to request approval on Additional Services Agreement No. 3 from Durrant
on the Kephart Building Improvement Project.
DISCUSSION
It is recommended that Durrant be retained to provide design and construction
administration services for the following:
- Informational technology system design. During the design phase, it was
determined that the City's Information Systems Department will provide network
connectivity to the building.
- Security system design. After considering the amount of technical equipment that
will be located within the multicultural center, aloes-cost motion sensing alarm
system is recommended.
- Modification to the roof design in order to accommodate the installation of renewable
energy technologies.
The cost of Durrant's professional services is estimated to be $15,000.00. The cost of
this work was included in the budget that was provided to the City Council for the award
of the construction contract.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
Your execution and approval of the attached Durrant's Request for Additional Services
No. 3 is requested.

Design and construction administration services fox the IS/IT and security changes and
Sustainability changes for the Kephart building project.
1. IS/IT for City of Dubuque network connections
2. Security System implementation
3. r~ccommodation of installation of a solar thin film over the member roof with
capabilities for net metering.
4. Increased insulation thickness and values at walls and roof.
This effort is limited to:
1. Survey and meeting time spent investigating the oppoi~tunties.
2. Design changes resulting from the roof, wall and electrical requests.
3. Development of addenda to cover these items.
4. Construction administration.
5. Cost estimating, if required.
